Onion Report

For a change, this season I've gone for an autumnal planting of onions (my traditional spring planting has always served me well, but I like an experiment..). This weekend, around 85 red onions and 45 'standard' ones were chucked into South Farm Bed 1, with a bit of help from Harriet. We also planted some garlic, for the lolz.

As you can see, we went for the Jaunty Angled approach, mostly just for the hell of it but also on the off-chance that we may accidentally stumble upon a message to an off-planet intelligence.

We'll keep you informed with Live Updates as they happen.

Isn't it a bit late in the year for growing?

certain plants (e.g. onions/garlic) can be put in to 'over-winter'.. they'll grow when they can, building up their roots a bit in the warmer soil then remaining dormant during cold periods until it starts to warm up in spring when they'll have a headstart in their growth cycle.
