Bug reports

Post by VDZ » Sun Aug 19, 2018 10:08 pm

I figured I'd report a few bugs I've found while playing so far.

* When you're at home, there's a really convenient 'Town Trades' button. However, it doesn't show up unless you alt-tab, change from fullscreen to windowed or vice versa, or go into small mode and back.

* I think this one's been in for ages, but if you select an amount to buy or sell, then head to another building and try/sell something there, the default selected amount is the same as the amount you selected for that earlier building; this happens even if such a thing would be impossible (e.g. buying 50 Stone from a quarry that only has 10. The transaction will fail, but the menu lets you try and has that as default). Would be nice to have this reset to 0 or 1 or some other sane value instead.

* On my daily summary e-mail, it stated I consumed 7 Tea. However, I only got my starting Tea and bought no Tea beyond that; I'm pretty sure I did not have that much Tea in my home. (Can't give any stats on other food or drinks as I exported it all to get more starting capital and am refraining from buying them until I actually need them.)

* If you join in a racing minigame with a special racing tractor, you remain in the racing tractor after the race ends. (Not sure if this is consistent; not exactly many chances to reproduce.) Potential for abuse is limited despite far greater speed (and probably different fuel usage) as it only has an item capacity of 8 and can't use a trailer.

* Not a proper bug report, but I strongly suspect there is some kind of fuel glitch or unexplained factor in fuel consumption. I have at times noticed my fuel going down unreasonably fast, faster than usual. Possibly related is that I keep my lights turned off and frequently turn my engine off and on again.

Minor things:

* There are various references to The Universal and space in small mode (i.e. 'show pilot guide in space', Universal logo and world name in title bar).

* If you try to crow fight using the console command, it tells you to press F5 to join crowfighting, but obviously that's outdated as F5 brings up the map.

* Default draw distance is very low (while max draw distance shouldn't be an issue on machines nowadays), which can make it difficult to navigate (as you don't see there's anything to head towards until you're already close). You might want to consider changing this default.
