State of the Woomph
Many many moons ago, during a brief period of frenetic drunken hardware installation involving connecting a harddrive upside-down, a load of directories got erased, including all my home development stuff. :(. I've restored code for Woomph up to v0.02, but it was irritatingly incomplete and work started on A Tractor instead.. Ah well.
Anyhoo, here lies what should be a playable version. ish.... Twas only a few late nights work (probably about 5 or 6 realtime, 2 months mit-time) but the chat works, you can probably have a fight with a couple of ppl online (but it won't always be a great fight), some of the graphics might look pretty-ish and some might leave black lines all over the place or crash your machine. :)

Almagest - The Woomph Online V0.04
V0.04 was built with a default central server which is no longer running. To start a game, you can either run a local server or find the IP of a remote one and add it manually in the options section.

    Important Things to Note

  • This game needs another 6 months of development time
  • Your desktop will preferably be in 16 bits per pixel colour, and should be at least 800x600
  • You'll probably be needin DirectX 6.1 or higher.
  • Alt F4 is useful sometimes
  • Read the Release Text for lots more info on technical issues.

    Installing it...

    Extract the Woomph Online zip and the Graphics set zip into a conveniently named directory.
    Run the executable ProWoomph.exe to play the game.
    To play on a local machine, download and run the server prog before running the game.

    V0.04 Fixed console bug with long messages. Fixed lack of weapon recharge on > 2 players. Added time and energy display. Options changed around, tidied and added loading/saving so you dont have to keep typing ur name in. Fixed a bug in the leave messaging. Made the F11 quit to title screen thing work right (mostly). Added stationary stars option for ppl with sore heads. Added automatic server update button in options and the server list stuff on front end. Erm, sorta redesigned the front end. Oh and renamed the game. For ppl not familiar with my 30% complete games, dont be surprised by this, it is a common occurence.
